Chevrolet received the most segment award in the 2012 J.D. Power and Associates Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study, with the Volt, Sonic, and Avalanche each ranking the highest in their respective segments.
Ranked highest in its segment for the second year in a row, the Volt earned high marks for fuel economy and range as well as engine/transmission performance while the Sonic was praised for its exterior styling, storage, space, and seats.
J.D. Power’s APEAL study investigates how gratifying a new vehicle is to own and drive based on more than 80 vehicle attributes. The analysis is based on more than 74,000 buyers and lessees of new 2012 model year vehicles surveyed at 90 days of ownership.
The GM Authority Take
The irony isn’t lost on us that the Avalanche is about to be discontinued.
