  1. According to the U.S. Fire Protection Agency, fire departments respond to over 250,000 vehicle fires per year. Each year, these fires cause an average of 408 deaths, 1,256 injuries and $787 million in property damage. Fires caused by collisions and rollovers resulted in nearly 66 percent of these fatalities.

We all fill our tanks, we work on our cars – fully aware ( at least most of us ) that cars are combustible, flammable, dangerous machines and every time we’re near or in one, there is that chance we’ll be injured or worse by a contraption that manufactures and manages millions of explosions inside a combustion chamber with sparks.

So what might we think of the alarmists and fear-mongers, politically inclined and foolish ones who create mass fear re: electric cars being dangerous or fire hazards? You know not one Chevy Volt owner or EV driver has had one single fire incident in over 3 million miles driven so far. Even in homes that have burned with an EV in the garage have all had Fire Marshalls deem the car a victim, not the cause….

And then – There’s THESE PEOPLE. I had to laugh – but then I thought: “They let these people outside?!!!”
