Spied: 2014 Caddy CTS Shows Engine Bay, Interior

We can’t decide what’s better – a peek under the hood or inside the cabin of the all-new Alpha-based Cadillac CTS. Luckily, we don’t have to choose — as InsideLine’s got spy photos of both.
Under the hood is a twin-turbo V6 — the same unit we told you about several months ago. The engineers covered up the Caddy logo on the engine cover but left the twin turbo designation exposed. That engine cover is key to keeping the disagreeable melody of direct-injection in the bay and out of the cabin, so it’s only natural for the engineers to test the prototype with the cover in place.
Inside, we find a layout similar to that of the Cadillac ATS and XTS. In fact, the AC vents, steering wheel, and CUE infotainment system seem identical to those of the larger XTS. The wheel has paddle shifters, the dash is nicely stitched, and be sure to notice two (not one) LCD screens — one in the traditional navigation spot (we’re thinking it’s the 8-incher) and the other driving the customizable instrument cluster (likely a 12.3-inch unit).
Additionally, the prototype the spy photographers caught has an aggressive-looking wheel/tire combo along with fixed brake calipers in the front. We’d wager we’re not looking at the CTS-V, but rather at the foreshadowing of a CTS as a model that’s even more performance-oriented to beat BMW’s 5er at its own game. So head on over to IL for the shots.

Finally! Can’t wait to see this TT V-6 in a multitude of GM cars.
Wait how come the CTS always get the exclusives??
It’s just the timing of the engine and the car. It will eventually make it across other Caddys.
Because this is how it always is….. from the start of the 08 CTS they get the DI 3.6 and then make it across the whole GM lineup, and now the Twin turbo V6 and then that will go across the pond too. Now the Verano Turbo will have 250 hp and 260 lb ft of torque I just hope that they get that engine to the Cruze!
Yupp, that’s correct. Stay tuned to the blog in 3 minutes or so!
Dont you mean the steering wheel of the smaller ATS? And does anybody know anything about this new Verano Turbo?
@Hunter – check http://gmauthority.com/blog/gallery for the Verano Turbo 🙂
Details going live on the blog in 3 minutes!
The Blue on THAT Verano is Gorgeous looking
I wonder if there is an “Eyes Free” button on the steering wheel.
Can’t wait. The ATS is awesome and this with it’s TT V6 will be just as good.
