Le Mans Racing At Night Via Jordan Taylor’s Helmet Cam (Video)

As the sun sets on the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the intensity rises. With practically no lighting, drivers have to recite the track from memory, while looking out for faster cars that may suddenly appear in their blind spot, with nothing but the roar of an engine and the the encouragement of the pit crew chief keeping them company as they barrel down the Mulsanne Straight at top speed in total darkness. Now, imagine it’s your first time doing it. That’s what Corvette Racing‘s Jordan Taylor, one of the drivers of the #73 Corvette C6.R experienced. Thankfully, the cameras were on to get a feel of what he endured.

The video is a rare first hand look into what goes on behind the wheel of a GT2 car at night as it takes practice laps of the historic Circuit de la Sarthe. Press play and watch 4 minutes and 21 seconds of racing nirvana.
