Johnny O’Connell And Cadillac Racing Take Back-To-Back Victories At Belle Isle

After securing a victory yesterday afternoon during the first race of the Cadillac V Series Challenge at Belle Isle, Johnny O’Connell was able to outlast Lawson Aschenbach in his Porsche 911 GT3 to secure a back-to-back victory weekend in the Cadillac Racing No.3 CTS-V.R Coupe. Teammate Andy Pilgrim also finished in the top 5, with a fourth place finish behind Alex Figge in the K-PAX Racing Volvo S60. After finishing the seventh round of the SCCA Pirelli World Challenge Series around the bumpy and bending Belle Isle, Cadillac notched its fourth victory under its belt, while leading in manufacturer’s points. Likewise, O’Connell and Pilgrim are 1-2 in driver’s points. The official points results should be available soon.

The celebration ceremony consisted of O’Connell parking the winning car in front of the podium, while Cadillac executives James Vurpillat and Don Butler were among those cheering him on. Also present was GM North American President Mark Reuss (he reads GM Authority, probably) who seemed absolutely elated from not just the results of the race, but the weekend itself.
