Those driving the Chevy Holden Volt in Australia will now have seven new outlets in which to plug in their extended-range electric vehicles… maybe.
Holden and ChargePoint have installed the first electric vehicle charging station exclusively for Volt drivers outside the roaring lion’s headquarters on Salmon Street in Port Melbourne while ChargePoint has placed six more stations at Holden’s engineering and design headquarters and Proving Ground in Lang Lang for Holden employees driving Volt evaluation vehicles and working on the program.
Unfortunately, it seems like the seven charging ports won’t be available for end users, instead being reserved for Holden employees… but the country is now seven steps closer to convenient vehicle electrification than before — if you’re into that sort of thing, that is.
