The General Motors Board of Directors visited the automaker’s Orion Assembly Center yesterday to check out the facility’s manufacturing processes for the Buick Verano and Chevy Sonic — which is the only subcompact vehicle built in the U.S.
The mission of the plant and its UAW Local 5960 members is to “Build It Like We Own It” — and the staff demonstrated GM’s Global Manufacturing System at work. Then the board then had some time to ride in Sonics and Veranos. In doing so, we wonder if anyone — members of the board, UAW members, or even Gandalf the Grey had taken notice to the disrupting rubber vanity window seal covers that protrude over and around the Verano’s front-most windows. If they didn’t, they should have — because a Buick shouldn’t feature such things. Is anyone paying attention to detail?
