With the 2012 Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix in the books, GM Racing fans now turn their attention to this weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the Corvette Racing team. The latest news from France tells us that things are going well, at least for the No. 74 Compuware Corvette C6.R. Drivers Oliver Gavin, Tommy Milner and Richard Westbrook, who paced the C6.R to the top of the board with a time of 3:58.971, or more than a half second quicker than the pace from last year.
The No. 73 Compuware Corvette C6.R covered the 8.5-mile circuit in 4:00.062, was the fourth fastest time in the production-based class before Jordan Taylor careened into a tire wall. But the team assures us that come race time, things will be okay.
