With the launch of the all-new 2014 Corvette fast approaching a year from now, General Motors has installed almost 90 new robots at a cost of $50 million dollars.
The automaker is investing a total of $131 million in Bowling Green for the C7, which should create 250 new jobs, consisting mostly of laid off plant workers and other GM employees. As far as what you can expect from the 2014 C7 Corvette, you should have a look at our thorough guide to everything we currently know about it.

No I am waiting for a C8. For now I need something I can drive in the snow. A Malibu or an Impala. So I will wait untill I retire and move to florida. Unless there is a software update for the computer that picks the numbers for power ball. The software in use now always picks the wrong numbers.
I don’t think the renderings I have seen do justice to what the final car will be like. In fact, I hope the car looks nothing like those renderings. They are downright ugly. That said, I think the C6 will be the de facto “I-Want-A-Corvette” version for some time to come…
I’m not getting one at this point in my life, but I promise to defend it to the death against the GT-R fanboys on auto forums.
“…General Motors has installed almost 90 new robots at a princely sum of $50 million dollars have been installed that will contribute to the birth of the C7.”
Pretty sure you could have worded that sentence better.
LOL, definitely 🙂
Agreed and updated. Thanks for the heads up!
I’m hoping to get one of the first C7’s in Canada ! ASAP !
Anybody want to buy a VERY well cared for C6 ?
Richard, those are really old renderings. There are a few stories more recently of spy photos that better represent the final car. There are a few at the bottom of this article.
Jim, what color/model is your car? I know a couple guys looking for one.
I want one. I think I need one but I have been told by more than a few friends that “need” is not the right word. I am sure if I was married my husband would make me sell one of the other cars to get it. ;^) Has anyone been able to pre-order it yet? I have not been able to and the dealers around here in MN don’t seem to have a date on when that might begin.
I do not think the order books are open yet. Usually, that kind of thing happens close to the debut date, and I’d wager we’re a few months away from seeing the C7 in public.
@99VetteGyrl. ALL I NEED IS WHAT I WANT. Take care of the things that you need.
