Accident Watch: White Corvette Loses Control… On Highway – Video

From the amount of car accidents we write about here on GM Authority, you may get the (wrong) idea and think that we’re ardent fans of watching beautiful cars crash. That’s not the case. Instead, we highly dislike accidents, but are endlessly amused at the stupidity of certain drivers, some of which just happen to possess beautiful cars. Like the owner of the Corvette ZR1 in this video, who puts the pedal to the metal on the highway and then proceeds to lose control and hit a black C6:

Our advice? Keep the traction and stability control on.

Update: we mistook the white Vette as a ZR1; it’s no such thing — thanks to everyone in the comments for the heads up!

  1. It’s so painful to watch

  2. The white Corvette in this video clip does not appear to be a ZR1 or even a Z06, why is it being referred to such? Just look at the sides of the white Corvette and you can easily see that it’s just a standard Corvette and nothing more.

    1. The description of the video states that it’s a ZR1, Barry. Although I personally can’t make out the details one way or the other…

    2. If you pause at 0:20 and look at the white Corvette from behind I think it has got some hips.

  3. Maybe he should learn the different modes of active handling or just leave it on at all times. It was obviously off becausr this would not have happened if it was on.

  4. As the white Corvette starts starts its out-of-control yaw motion, look carefully at its side panels. The vent just near the leading edge of the door is that of a standard Corvette. Both the ZR1 and the Z06 have very different vents on those panels. It’s a dead giveaway that this is not a ZR1.

    2. The white Corvette you see in the video is a Z06. Compare the back of it to the black one next to it at the beginning of the video. The fenders are angled out for the larger tires and the side vent on the Z06 and coupe are very similar, the Z06 just sticks out more. Heck, I have a Corvette Z06 in my driveway.

  8. More important then keeping the traction and stability control on. The driver should realize what he has, get some training, and grow up and not act like a teenager
