While Opel and Vauxhall seem to enjoy their compact zoomers like the new Astra GTC and Corsa OPC/VXR, Chevrolet seems to have all the fun when it comes to big touring cars and performance cars like the Camaro and Corvette. In light of this, designer David Cardoso envisioned a new sporty coupe, dubbed the Opel Enigma, and he bases his renderings off the Camaro morphed into Opel sheetmetal. And it looks fantastic.
But would it make a good car for the market? Considering the obvious overlap between the Euro-spec Camaro and a hypothetical production Opel Enigma, it’s hard to make the business case. But Opel could use all of the fresh product it can get while GM Europe continues to battle out of the red.

Looks dope, wish I could drive one on this side of the pond!
Yes please…
that car looks awesome, the should make it
Good idea opel needs a home grown product
Yes yes yes. Wow that looks amazing, like the lovechild from a Camaro and a Tesla Model S. Wish that could come to the states. Sick name too, it’s a little out there but I think it works – “so misunderstood but what’s a world without enigma?” I can see the ads now.
Opel makes the coolest headlights.
Can we slap a Caddy badge on that and call it a day??
You don’t like the CTS Coupe?
Introducing the 2014 Buick Riviera!
Or a revival of the Buick Wildcat!
Keep in mind people that this is an unofficial rendering. It wasn’t done by an official GM designer. But that doesn’t change the fact that it’s sex with wheels.
GM should hire the designer, this one of the best looking cars/concepts I have ever seen, and the best part is that it looks like something that could actually go into production with just a few minor tweaks unlike some drop dead gorgeous but unrealistic concepts.
I dont care what car this thing is, just make it, it looks so damn good.
Looks better then the Camaro, yet it’s still a fat heavy car. Drop 700lbs and build it.
meh, looks overly 1995 to me. and while i’m complaining, if they find the money to do this, they could have done a next gen Manaro AND GTO.
HATE HATE HATE! LOL
No and here is why, Opel is not a Global brand. Make Opel a global brand or faze it out. That does not mean I don’t like the concept it’s drop dead gorgeous.
It could be near global. Opels are sold in South America. Since Opel is in Australia now, it would be sold there as is. It could come Stateside and possibly to China as a rebadged Buick Riviera.
Let’s cut to the chase and make the unofficial, officially official… Build this now….
No way… Opel is a brand for grandpa’s ……and students (astra)…
This car would better get the Pontiac badge…..
Pontiac is gone. Have Buick badge it as a Wildcat.
put a chevy badge on it and make it a camaro.
Relax people. A rebadged Camaro has been sold as a Vauxhall and Opel for years. The only thing is that it wasn’t actually a Camaro…at least…not yet. It was the Holden Monaro, aka Vauxhall Monaro, aka Pontiac GTO. This is a decent rendering, must admit. But I would recommend that if GM does do a car like this, make it a hatchback. Euro-types love that sort of thing.
In Europe the Monaro was for the UK only, not an Opel. Opel could use a halo car now when the Saturn Sky is gone.
