Watch A 4th-Gen Camaro Race A 90’s-Era Dodge Caravan: Video

You’d think that the Chevy Camaro would easily take the family-hauler to school in the quarter mile… but this doesn’t end up to be the case:

Surprised? So were we. From the drag strip readout, it seems that the Caravan ran an 8.5 second quarter mile, making for one hella-fast van. Now, there are a couple of possibilities here: the Caravan may have been packin’ some serious firepower under the hood. Or the Camaro driver didn’t know what he was doing. Or the whole thing was staged in hopes of making a viral YouTube video. Who knows!

  3. Pausing the video around 14 sec., the e.t. seemed to be around 12.65 @ 108MPH (kinda hard to read the illumination during the daylight.)
    The ’89 Caravans with the 2.5L Turbo are pretty surprising. Especially, when you strip all the weight out of it and boost the turbo. 🙂
