OnStar Fuses With… Dubstep!? (Video)

Here comes something we never, ever thought we would write about. OnStar teamed up with Detroit music producer, OCTiV, to create an exclusive video featuring the RemoteLink app (now available on Blackberry phones) and several Chevrolet models. The tune begins with and features OnStar sounds while OCTiV does his own thing by weaving in his signature electric guitar sounds into the track.
As a fan of electronic music and dubstep (before it was cool), I find this video to be completely awesome. It’s just too bad OCTiV won’t be dropping this track during this weekend’s epic Movement festival in Detroit’s Hart Plaza, right next to the Renaissance Center (he’s not in the lineup).
Did OnStar just become cool?

See, to imply that dubstep was at some point “cool” is to suggest that it was at all even listenable.
It’s not hard enough, it’s too slow, and not something the Camaro should be assocated with (substandard performance, that is).
haters gonna hate.
personally i thought it was awesome
wait how can you set it up the app to say unlock and lock your car from the phone??
That’s basic functionality of RemoteLink… Does yours not have that?
it does but i figured it out already
This is absolutely ridiculous. How does anyone classify or compare this “noise” as remotely close to actual music?
No, OnStar didn’t become cool. Dubstep is now dead. Because it’s being used for promos on the Science Channel and OnStar commercials. Coolness isn’t fully mainstream…ever.
But OnStar is still cool to me!
