When Lingenfelter ran a 10.79 @ 134 mph quarter-mile, it elated enthusiasts. Then Redline Motorsports raised the bar with their tuned ZL1, running a 10.32 @ 134.7 mph. Now, both tuning companies can step aside for a new king of the high-speed hill; Livernois Motorsports.
The Michigan-based tuning company fitted a stock Camaro ZL1 with so much muscle to give the vehicle enough ferocity to provide 707 horsepower and 680 foot-pounds of torque to the rear wheels. You can read the entire spec sheet here, and watch the video below of what these upgrades can do to the super pony car. The time? 9.87 @ 142 mph — nearly a full half second faster than what Redline Motorsports managed, and nearly a full second faster than what the 202 mph Lingenfelter Camaro could muster. It’s also the first Gen V Camaro ZL1 to be welcomed into the nine-second club.
