Executive Shuffle: Sales Edition

Along with the official announcement of the Chevrolet SS performance sedan, General Motors has opted to shake up its Sales and Service department. Alan Batey (pictured above) will leave his position of Vice-President of Sales and Service for Chevrolet to assume the newly created position of GM vice president, U.S. Sales and Service. Batey, who was Chairman of Holden before early 2010, will report to GM North American President Mark Reuss.

Filling in Batey’s old shoes will be Don Johnson, who will be leaving his role of U.S. vice president, Sales Operations behind for Kurt McNeil, who before today was the  U.S. vice president, Cadillac Sales and Service. Continuing the domino effect, Chase Hawkins will replace McNeil, leaving his former position of regional director of Cadillac Sales and Service Northeast Region. Lastly, Ed Peper, currently general manager, Fleet and Commercial Operations, is named U.S. vice president, Fleet and Commercial Sales.

These moves will come into effect June 1. And Reuss explains to us that the moves will “help take full advantage of these growth opportunities and continue delivering solid improvements in customer satisfaction, dealer profitability and resale value.”
