2013 Chevy Avalanche Gets Slight Changes: RPO Central

For its last year on the market, the beloved Chevy Avalanche is presented with a few small, but noticeable all-around changes. The most notable of these are a new color called Fairway Metallic and the addition of a tremendous amount of standard equipment across all trim levels. Interestingly, GM’s RPO guide makes no mention of the special Black Diamond Edition:

Deletions

  • Exterior color (37U) Imperial Blue Metallic
  • Exterior color (46U) Blue Granite Metallic
  • Exterior color (50U) Summit White
  • Exterior color (74U) Victory Red
  • (QXN) P265/65R18 on-/off-road blackwall tires
  • (AP8) Remote vehicle starter prep package
  • Inside rearview manual day/night mirror
  • (PDD) Convenience Package (all package content now standard on LS models)
  • (V43) Rear color-keyed steel bumper

New Features

  • Exterior color (GXN) Fairway Metallic
  • (RBX) P265/65R18 all-terrain blackwall tires
  • (W03) Heated seats kit, LPO

Changes

  • RPO Code change: (UVD) Heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel replaces (KA9)
  • (PDD) Convenience Package content is now standard on LS models (was available in 2012)
  • (Z71) Off-Road Suspension Package is now available with (GAN) Silver Ice Metallic, (41U) Black and (GXN) Fairway Metallic
  • (AP3) Remote vehicle starter system with Remote Keyless Entry is now standard on all equipment groups (was available with [PDD] Convenience Package on LS in 2012)
  • (BKI) Body-colored exterior components is now standard on all equipment groups (was available in 2012)
  • (DD8) inside rearview auto-dimming mirror is now included with (PCJ) Sun, Entertainment and Destinations Package on LT models (was included in [PDA] Texas Edition and [PEB] All-Star Edition in 2012)
  • (DRC) Inside rearview mirror with rear camera display is now standard on LS and LT models (was available in 2012)
  • (JF4) Power-adjustable pedals is now standard on all equipment groups (was available with [PDD] Convenience Package on LS in 2012)
  • (UD7) Rear Parking Assist is now standard on all equipment groups (was available with [PDD] Convenience Package on LS in 2012)
  • (UVC) Rear Vision Camera is now standard on all equipment groups (was available with [PDD] Convenience Package on LS and with [PCJ] Sun, Entertainment and Destinations Package on LT in 2012)
  • (VGE) Color-keyed rear fascia is now standard on all equipment groups (was available with [PDD] Convenience Package on LS in 2012)

  2. Wow call these the extra value packages! wonder is we’ll have a short 2013 year for the Silverado/Tahoe/ Burb all with added value before the new models come out.
