This Is The 2014 Chevy Impala Reveal Video

Nearly a minute and a half long, this video played this morning at the Chevrolet press conference at the 2012 New York International Auto Show. As you can see from the beginning, the 2014 Impala has come a long way from the car it was 10 generations ago. Let alone a year ago.

But will this broad, bold sedan be able to replicate the popularity of the outgoing model? Give us your reasons as to why you think it’s possible (or not) in the comment section below.

  5. A few comments/observations:

Very interesting that a 1965 Impala was used as the “before” or “inspiration”

It looks like an a modern Impala should look? To me at least.

I think the exterior has a chance to look good even in the lower trim levels due to
    details in the exterior styling.

Interior looks maybe a bit “over done” on the show car? How many
    colors/materials/finishes do you really need?

Overall a nice job and I’m sure a bit hit for Chevrolet.

  6. The video was great, and the car itself is even better. As an ’05 GTO owner who will (hopefully) start having kids in the next few years, this is honestly a legit next car for me. Has everything I’m looking for (including HIDs… yes, I know its something small, but FINALLY GM is paying attention).

I’ve seen very few comments on an Impala SS. Does anyone think its possible? The last great SS was in 1996, any it seems like there aren’t any plans to bring it back. Is that where this new Chevy nameplate will come in?? Slot in between the Malibu and Impala and be a RWD V8 beast? THAT would really be the perfect next step for a current GTO owner!

  9. Is MyLink standard across the entire lineup? Or is there a version without the touchscreen? Hopefully not.

  10. I wonder if they will offer a Caprice-type model…rmember the 65 when it came out????? IT was superb and so elegant….Maybe the base will be good enough? I suppose no full-size front seats…..too bad

    1. If you want bench seats, get a truck.

Bench seats in cars are dead and gone.

  11. impala, I looked at the still pictures this morning I thought the interior is nice including steering wheel. The exterior is kind of plain. Just finished watching the video. And now it’s like it’s alive. My God you’re beautiful!

  12. Bench seats are gone period! The ones in the trucks, they call them 40/20/40

  13. The ’65 is a lot better looking. The new one looks like they combined a (gaudy) new Taurus and a new Buick. Wouldn’t a RWD 396 4 speed be a lot more fun?

    1. The 65 was really, really nice. In fact, 65 was a super year for all GM…Cadillac lost the fins

    2. Rocket88….yes, the 1965 was so nice…pretty much best one ever built?

  14. Would be nice to sell in 1965 numbers, or at least 1965 market share.

  15. Omg why bother with the new Malibu Or even the lacrosse this car is amazing two thumbs up on GM with the 2014 impala …..

  16. The lacrosse still has a better front end

  17. I don’t want to start an argument but no way the lacrosse has a better front end than this all new impala hold that thought whenever GM decides to refresh the lacrosse hopefully in the coming months we will find something out because Lexus has sure updated the ES and it’s not bad looking
