Freshly published on the Internet are photos of what looks to be slightly facelifted version of the Opel/Vauxhall Insignia, readying itself for a 2014 model-year refresh. The most noticeable change is the larger grille, along with tweaked headlamps with LED daylights. Unfortunately for us, the interior was not photographed, nor do we know of any powertrain change-ups just yet, though it’s easy to imagine a 2.5L Ecotec nestled between the front wheels.
The tail lamps will most likely see a change-up as well, though the photos found on Autoblog show just light bulbs. As a bonus, a refreshed Insignia wagon was also photographed. And because the Insignia and Buick Regal are twins, expect both models to reveal their new looks sometime soon, most likely in the fall.

Of course!! As soon as I bought a 2012!! LOL!!!
You gotta think, the current Insignia has been around since 2008. So it’s due for a refresh.
Well hopefully they fix the steering. I have a popping and clicking in my steering with noises coming from the steering components under the car. Of course the dealership says everything checks out fine. Now I hear GM is coming out with a TSB for a fix. Possible strut mount. The new Regal should be better. Maybe now they’ll offer it in RWD so Motor Trend can at least give it a fair shot when they compare it to the 328i.
RWD? Impossible! But how about AWD?
Well I know they aren’t going to make it RWD, I’m just thinking it be a more fun car with it. There is no reason however, that GM can’t make AWD a paid option. I would have paid extra for my GS to have AWD and Recaro seats.
I wonder if GM/Buick should just drop the Regal completely in NA after ’13? Once the full line of Verano’s (turbo) and Malibu’s are up and running later this year, not to mention the new ATS, who wants a Regal? It’s not a bad car, it’s just a very crowded segment and the Regal is really not “great” at anything. The fact that it’s heavy(mediocre/poor fuel economy) and can get very expensive when optioned out, make it an also ran that will surely rely on heavy incentives to make it across the curb. Leave this one to Europe and China and move on.
The Regal GS does everything I need. It has an aggressive look, four doors, and sporty handling. There are other Regal lovers out there that feel the same way. I do agree about the weight issue. There are definitely things that could have been done for savings. The hood on the Regal is aluminum. Why couldn’t the trunk lid have been made of aluminum as well. It has two mufflers. I’m a firm believer that a four cylinder engine doesn’t need two mufflers. One muffler, there’s about a 50 pound saving right here. The rear seat, seat backs are heavy. I’m guessing 40 pounds right here. GM has always had trouble with with weight savings. No, they need to keep the Regal as their sports sedan. The Lacrosse and Verano just aren’t up to the handling capabilities of the Regal. If people insist on getting rid of the Regal, then Buick would need to make a sport edition of the Lacrosse. Take the supercharged V6 from the old Caddy SRX, give it a 6 speed manual, AWD, interactive drive system, Recaro seats, Brembo brakes and call it the Lacrosse special. This however is the new Buick, and to shed the old man image, they need a car like the Regal GS.
That´s true. I didn´t understand, why GM switched the production of the Regal to Canada instead of leaving it in Germany, where its German subsidiary Opel has capacity problems. The sales of the Regal in North America are very small compared to the original version, the Insignia with around 145,000 sales in Europe! The Canadian version is even more expensive than the first German built versions that arrived NA, and the LaCrosse is by far more successful, where most people thought it will be cannibalized. However, i am pretty sure the Encore will be another Flop, not only in North America, but also here in Europe as the Opel Mokka. The Insignia was not designed to fit the needs of American costumers, and this is why badge-engineering doesn´t always work, especially if you want to merge two completely different brands with different markets.
have 2012 opel insignia elite had 2010 elite both same problem dip lights to high blinding everyone has anyone same problem
