Found on the forum site SilveradoSS.com, speculation has it that this single cab next-generation Silverado pickup is a bit different from the rest of the test prototypes out there, in that it’s a bit more thrill inducing than the rest. With its larger wheels and shorted bed and box configuration, it certainly looks sportier.
If you ask us, there’s not much here to give us enough hope that a Silverado SS is indeed coming. We wouldn’t expect tow mirrors on a Silverado SS, even though these might be for testing purposes. However, the brakes don’t look substantial enough for a modern day sport truck, and neither does the single exhaust outlet. So perhaps this truck is merely a single-cab work truck with a set of uncharacteristic wheels. But we’ll continue holding out for a Ford F-150 SVT Raptor rival. Considering the dinky exhaust outlet, we could be looking at a Silverado hybrid.
And why couldn’t GM do a better job at tucking the truck’s frame in? Sheesh.

A Silverado SS is a contradiction upon a contradiction. Trucks are inferior at road-going than a sports car in every way, except for when they’re hauling or towing. So making a “performance” variant of a truck for the asphalt makes no sense, unless the performance improves its capability off the road (like a Raptor).
Good call. Want a sports car? Don’t look for it in a truck. Get a Camaro instead.
Other than that, this is probably meant to test an optional set of wheels on a single-cab config…
you guys seem to forget that there are people out there that don’t want a car but want something really sporty. i mean look at the ram srt10 and the late f150 lightning or the old silverado ss. but what chev should make is an upgrade friendly trim level cause thats what truck guys want.
oh and definately make a raptor fighter.
I will never buy Muscle Car or sport car.
I love only SUVs and trucks.
I wish GM produce Sierra 6.2L RCSB Denali All-Terrian 4X4 Z71
wouldn’t a contradiction to a contradiction be uniforming, just as multiplying two negatives make a positive?
*troll face*
Manoli this is a picture of a special truck but that is all I can say, Also have you seen the chevy 100 tv show about the history and the future, you may see portions of the SS in the last few minutes of the show, Ed discusses some details you may see. I have not seen anyone comment on this???
Chevy 100 TV show? Can you point me to a video online or where I should look?
It’s being broadcast on the Velocity channel. Aired again yesterday.
I doubt it’s an SS, but maybe a Raptor rival…
That and the return of compact truck hot rods are on the top of my Chevy truck wish list.
If it is a raptor fighter, I’m sure I’d have longer suspension travel. Maybe it’s just a reg cab short bed test truck and nothing else?
Putting “SS” on anything top heavy is a BAD marketing idea.
Trailblazer SS?
watch the last 10 minutes of the show and you will see Ed uncover a car that has some atributes of guess the _ _ and is a teaser for later this year hope you like to guess? Also the truck you are looking at is special but not an SS. Look at the size of the cab? then make some comments.
I’d say GM is bringing back the stepside box. Maybe even storage compartments on the side as well.
Something tells me this is a four-mode hybrid truck.
Hate the new looking Silverado’s look to boxy for me glad my 07 Silverado classic looks nice and not boxy rather see a turbo V8 instead of a competitive motor to Fords ecoboosted 6 which has around 360 hp Gm would have to step it up a lot for that and imo should just do the 8 as real trucks imo have V8’s do something uniquely American and gm for the truck design instead of a boxy looks foreign truck glad they aren’t making a diesel half ton as that’s just impractical as diesels are mainly designed to haul more than half tons and are for three quarter ton and ups how about that Vortec Max making a comeback for the half ton??? Saw ads in the family handyman around I think 04 and had 345 hp and towed 10,000 lbs till I see a new one I like I’m stickin to mine just lacks the power I want being 23 the acelration sucks more hp would be nice wishing I had 800 and throw in stock chromes instead of the horrid alum wheels too!! Cmon gm u can do better!!
this is not silverado ss 2014 you re lier
I was commenting on the Ss I clicked on the skip to comments and it put my comment hear liar about what moron???? Tell that to the pos link putting me here
I would like to buy 510567 suns please for 160903
That is your opinion, and a stupid one at that! Trucks are some of the sportiest looking vehicles. Dodge knocked it outta the park with the 12 ram r/ t! They have an in your face styling that is awesome! I want a truck that I can drive everyday on the street. So what if a sport car can perform better than a truck, it’s a car it should.
