Some may not know or care, but the Chevy Volt is built in America — in a town within the heart of Detroit called Hamtramck. Following is a short documentary that brings to light the core values of some of the residents of Hamtramck as they works towards a bright future.
In addition to the Volt, Detroit-Hamtramck assembly is also slated to make the 2013 Malibu and the tenth-generation 2014 Impala; the former is also made at Fairfax Assembly in Kansas City while the latter is jointly manufactured in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.

Sometimes it would seem that it doesn’t matter, but there are real, living, breathing people working to bring us the vehicles we all love and enjoy. That is to say, the personal aspect of building a vehicle is often overlooked. Not today and not here.
