Chevy Takes 130R and 140S Concepts To South By Southwest For Feedback, Ideas For Interiors

Having solicited feedback about the Code 130R and Tru 140S concepts at the Geneva Motor Show, Chevy is at it again at the South by Southwest (SXSW) interactive film and music festival this week in Austin, Texas — where it’s asking participants to “help design the interior” of the concepts.

What’s noteworthy about this is the fact that SXSW is the first (of many) non-automotive venues where the Bow Tie brand will ask for feedback and ideas. The brand has already proven that it can handle getting feedback and applying it to vehicles, since both the 130R and 140S were designed this way. Twitter users at SXSW are welcome to join the conversation about the concepts by using the #ChevySXSW hash tag.

The GM Authority Take

We want us some 140S and 130R goodness… like yesterday — which shows one of the downsides of unveiling concepts — the long time it takes to see actual vehicles on the road. But we couldn’t think of a more fitting place to get feedback for the two “new school” concepts than SXSW, since it’s frequented by many youngsters who also happen to be into music, technology, film, and the intersection of the three mediums.

  1. What is with all this marketing to youngsters business? Who says that they like a sporty, fuel efficient, economical car more than us guys at mid-life? The 140S is almost enough to make me want to give up kayaking and take up cruising. Don’t change a thing on the outside. Don’t dumb it down, and it will be a hot seller.
