We’ve known for about two weeks now that the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 shipments have been halted and production suspended due to an alleged software issue, though General Motors isn’t telling anyone what it is for sure. Regardless, the fix is taking more than just a few weeks. And as time goes on, the transition for the 2013 model year for the Camaro approaches.
This may be frustrating for soon-to-be ZL1 owners, some of which have waited up to six months for the highly anticipated, 580-horsepower budget supercar. But they should keep their chins up, because their 2012 model year ZL1 may end up being just one of several hundred in existence if the problem isn’t solved fast enough.
