Cadillac CTS-V Wagon Takes To The Dyno (Video)

The Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon is many things. A supercar, a utility vehicle, a sleeper, and my future hearse — just to name a few things. And with a power rating of 556 hp and 550 ft-lbs of torque, we know it’s immensely powerful. But just how powerful? How much of that force actually transfers to the pavement? Edmunds Inside Line investigates by strapping one up to a dynamometer. The result: 492 horsepower at the 6,200 rpm fuel cut, while torque peaks at 502 lb-ft around 3,200 3,700 RPM. Not bad for something that can hold a couple pallets of Costco groceries.

Peak torque is at 3700 rpm, bro
I love this car. Long live the wagons!
AWESOME!! I had the pleasure of participating in a stupidly fast ‘cat and mouse’ game with a ruby red CTS-V sedan near downtown Tampa. And when I say that car was fast, I’m understating! My modded 05 GTO is no slouch and the only time my car could even be considered competitive was when doing quick low gear burst in 1st and 2nd gear. If there was any room to stretch that Caddy’s legs, OH LAWD! was all I could mutter as it squirted away with that “your not even worthy” authority. I’m talking 40-110+ mph acceleration runs. Well at least that’s what MY speedo read! Who knows how fast he was actually going.
I’d argue that I was slightly superior in high speed transitions and when changing direction, but my car has $5000 in suspension work and rides like a track car. That Caddy probably was riding like a cloud through the whole ordeal.
Man what a machine. I’ve played with a lot of high dollar cars and it’s rare for my car to be so promptly and quickly outclassed. That Caddy made my respectable street fighting beast ,look like a fly circling around a hawk!
