Twitter Tuesdays: Chevy Should Market The Volt As A Golf Kart
7Sponsored Links
This week’s installment of Twitter Tuesdays contains an eclectic mix of Tweets, ranging from the pure obnoxious (Chevy Volt should be advertised as a golf cart) and fanboyish (guess what FORD stands for) to the financially literate (Apple is worth more) and strange (who can’t pick between a used CTS and an Aveo?). Without further ado, here it is:
Looking into getting a new car. I’m deciding between the new Buick Regal or the Kia Santorum.
Apple is worth more than Google, Goldman Sachs, General Motors, Ford, Starbucks and Boeing combined.
If General Motors…..advertises the Chevy Volt……….as a fancy golf kart for the rich……they will sell a lot better…..!!!

“Do I go with the 2004 Cadillac CTS or the 2010 Chevy Aveo??? HELP!!!”
Seriously? It wasn’t so much the choice between the two, but that an 2004 CTS has depreciated so much so that for an equal amount, one could get a 2010 Chev Aveo.
Its actually a legitamate question, as Graw points out they cost about the same, and maybe the buyer in question in his mind is having to choose between an old gas guzzler permforance luxury sedan or a newer practical cheaper-to-maintain gas saver.
That first-/last-gen Aveo is anything but fuel efficient. It’s powered by an old school 1.6 that barely makes more than 100 horses mated to a 4-speed auto or 5-speed stick… All in all, makes for less than 30 MPG highway in our tests.
I think the bigger question for them is how many miles the used CTS will have as well as the warranty it carries. Stuff like that.
Alex, I know that, thats why I said in the buyers mind, I know many people who, especially in used cars, assume gas mileage based on the cars size and not its actual mpg. In mt experiance, warranty is also of no concern to the average used car buyer(im assuming the buyer in question is buying private party). Mileage and condition will definately play a role. The point is that at the first glance, someone who cannot decide whether to get an cts or an aveo can be scoffed at, it can actually be, when thought out, a difficult choice.
Agreed.
“I gotta chevy I gotta benz I gotta connect that keep me straight I think he mexican” What?? 🙂 🙂 🙂
Owns a Chevrolet. Owns a Benz. Has a drug connect (re: a middle man between the drug source and a bulk buyer) that he does business with who he thinks is Mexican.
