It’s no secret that GM Europe has a new A-segment car on the way, but the little car has been camera shy. Reported to be called the Opel/Vauxhall Allegra (or perhaps ‘Junior’), the vehicle will slot in below the larger-but-still-small Corsa, and is said to be roughly the same size as the Mini Cooper. But the Mini is trendy, and fairly stylish. So can the new kid on the block that shares the name of allergy medicine really compete?
Judging by these interior spy photos obtained by AutoCar, we certainly think so. Classy, glossy piano black plastic is abundant, while the instrument panel, steering wheel and shifter seem to come from the Corsa. Hopefully this little car can help turn things around for GM Europe.

GM will probably not want to sell it in the U.S., but look around where I live and there are MINIs all over the place, including my garage. To compete all they new to do is make it sufficiently upscale, and to really win out, all they need to do is give it GM’s typical suspension. Buyers will go for it. I would.
