After announcing the Cruze wagon earlier in February, Chevrolet just released another photo of the upcoming compact. The new photo offers a new angle and provides a better look at the overall shape of the greenhouse and extended rear end as well as the revised front fascia, including what looks to be the same grille we saw several months ago, a new lip, and new fog light clusters.
Chevy will fully unveil the Cruze Wagon at the Geneva Motor Show in the beginning of March. Stay tuned to GM Authority for more GM News.

*Correction: beauty not beaut?
Is the updated face on the wagon going to be the major refresh of the cruse in 2013 and will the diesel come in the US this gen or with the next gen cruze.
“Beaut” — as in short for “beauty”… right?
The updated face will be the global face, but not sure what will happen in the U.S. in regards to the market-specific RS/non-RS lower fascia, as the one on the wagon appears to be more aggressive than the non-RS Cruze in the U.S.
In regards to diesel – I don’t think they’re using the new mill in this one just yet, but I may be wrong.
Oh,I was just writing my midterm essay and was proofreading it for spelling mistakes, so otherwise I would get that.
Midterms are the essence of writing. And writing is the essence of erudition… or something.
This is a really good looking wagon. Who is the designer?
Yeah, it’s beautiful. Not sure about the design team, though; so we sent in a question to GM. Will report back as soon as we hear back.
The Saab 9-3 and 9-5 Sportcombi’s were awesome, I wish they could bring those back . . . . But that Cruze does look cool too!
even though it looks really good, it won’t come here:(
Please tell me why we’ll never get this? Because I’m at a loss for why.
I think there is a article of why we won’t get it here.
Lack of sufficient market demand. We’ll have an Opinion Desk story about this later today.
because pretty much everybody is going for crossovers so technically that’s how wagons begin to die down a bit except for a few…..
I wish GM would produce the GMC Granite Concept as a Chevy. The Cruze Wagon looks nice but the roof is not as functional for boats and bikes as is the Granite. Notice how GM has been leaving their racks a bit short (see also the Equinox), which puts the cross bars closer together and makes the system less supportive for canoes, kayaks, and bicycle doubles. (28 inches is about a minimum.) I’m not even sure the rack in the photo supports the aerodynamic cross bars that are common to most good rack systems today. I like what Subaru does. They clearly they cater to outdoor people.
I personally don’t even know anyone who drives a wagon or would want to buy one.
I would; but since I can’t buy it, I can’t.
Optimally, I would have a Cruze wagon/hatch and a Camaro ZL1.
Anyone who buys a crossover is essentially buying a minivan or a wagon
Any reason why Detroit thinks Americans are too stupid to buy and incredibly funcional hatchback? Or why Chevy styling is so solidly entrenched in the mid-70s.
Haven’t they seen the Kias’, Hyundais’ or the new Fusion?!
If GM wants to be number 1… show us why. If it already is, prove it.
Lead by example!
Jim
I think that GM is, indeed, leading my example. With the exception of full hybrids, the “new” Chevy design (Malibu, Cruze) is spot on, in my opinion. Not everything needs to be as aggressively-styled as the new Kias or look like a piece of melted poo (Hyundai).
LOVE IT… Who buys wagons, people who want the added functionality… By the way lovin E85 at 2.99 at the local Mobil, verses 3.80 for Gas, another reason why I love my HHR, Flex Fuel Baby Ya… Suckers…
Request; Alex can you guys do a piece on E85 Flex Fuel equipped GM vehicles and the future of this technology as it relates to GM; would greatly appreciate it, love this ability to switch between fuels. E85 is 2.99 near my pad.
Once again, an attractive and utile automobile deemed unattractive to the pre-determined middle American ‘boor” by the “powers that be”. The grillework does put one in mind of the Acura TL, but much better rendered here.
to be honest, the Cruze is a blast to drive IMO… I haven’t test drove the others but this one is a blast… I test drove one today(finally) and the 1.4T is amazing! The car I test drove also have proximity keys and keyless ignition and also RS package. I also love the Volt but the only gripe is that I cannot see the front of the car while inside the car.
I would buy this car. Just reading in your ‘Rumors’ section about a possibly higher horsepower, sportier Cruze sedan and this would make a cool a sport wagon. We have a ’08 HHR SS with the 2.0L 260hp/260tq that is a hoot to drive. The interior has nothing on the new GM interiors but as a wagon I’ve hauled tons of stuff that no sedan could ever handle. 2 greyhounds, big TV’s, 8′ lumber, my Toro snowblower, a set of 4 wheels & tires. Love wagons!! especially the sport ones. Come on GM, build this for me. Just put the 2.0L turbo in it.
