So, you’re an avid Corvette fan. You’ve got the garage featuring collector’s models like the Centennial Edition and the 427 Convertible. You even have a Corvette barbecue to cook Corvette-shaped stakes. And now, there’s the Step2 Corvette Z06 bed for your little Corvette enthusiast.
The $229 bed is designed for holding a toddler’s mattress but expandable to accommodate a twin (extending its usability from ages 2 to 10). Option the ‘Vette bed with working headlights, a $110 matching dresser, a $65 storage chest and a $40 wheeled storage box featuring over 3 feet of storage space. Hopefully Step2 will soon offer a radio option, capable of conversing with other Corvette bed owners.

It’s junk like this that makes the Corvette less likely to be taken seriously by the public at large.
How can you take the Corvette as a genuine “world class sports car” when the nameplate has been attached to something a 6 year old will wet the bed in?
I know branding makes money, but when I see Corvette barstools, earrings, child beds, quartz wall clocks, I get the sense that the name ‘Corvette’ is being deliberatley cheapened like a Wal-Mart good just so it could selling more junk that people don’t need.
True, Graw
The objects you mentioned like barstools and earrings soil the corvette name but maybe the bed can have a little more effect. The early influences are the strongest and I dont think it would be so far-fetched to say that a boy who had this bed would result in him turning in to a muscle car enthusiast or him buying a corvette when hes all grown up.
Why have a dream car on a poster in your room when you could be sleeping in a dream car in your room?
But then you’d be sleeping in your car….and everyone would think you’re homeless, and I don’t think the Corvette has R30 insulation value. It does have high carbon-monoxide levels though.
As for Babersher’s hypothetical child in corvette bed, it could work, but it’s a damn long shot. A million other factors could change the kid thoughout his life and might find intrest in some other car, or some other activity far-removed from cars.
It’s only meant for children anyways. Even though I still want one.
Ferrari, Lambo, and Porsche all have the same “problem” — if that’s what it truly is. They all have various memorabilia made using their name…
Awsome! Do you sell these beds? I want one for my boy……
