The tuning company Fastlane is at it again. Except this time, instead of simply teasing us with a photo of an LS9 V8 engine nestled in the bay of a Chevy Silverado, they’ve gone and shot a video with it.
There’s not much work done to the body of this single-cab sleeper, other than the aggressive exhaust pipes peeking from the sides, but non-believers beware: this Chevy truck dynos in at 510 horsepower and 504 pound-feet of torque. We look forward to seeing what’s next for the Houston, TX-based performance shop.

I’m sure a few remember the Blue Silverado 427 Chevy had at Sema back in 2006. It was a regular cab short bed just as is shown here and I’m sure they would have sold all they could build had they decided to put it into production.
For a quick history lesson on the demand for this type of vehicle I take you to 1990, the premier year for the Silverado 454SS. It was quite hot the first few months, and there were 13,750 produced, many bringing over sticker price. However, from then on it went downhill fast. Only 983 left the factory in 1991, 1,380 in 1992, and only 843 in 1993, after which it was discontinued.
