Chevy Volt Is, Indeed, A Halo Vehicle

The Chevrolet Volt has achieved the coveted halo car status. No exaggeration.

Speaking at the Automotive News World Congress last week, General Motors Vice Chairman Steve Girsky said that the median income of Volt buyers is $175,000 and that the vehicle “is bringing more BMW customers to GM than Cadillac is.”

The GM Authority Take

Now that’s what you call a halo product — one attracts an entirely new breed of customers who would have otherwise never considered Chevy. And that’s just for the folks who are fortunate enough to purchase a Volt. Think of all the customers who — after driving the vehicle — think higher of the brand and its prodcuts. And as for Cadillac not drawing in a significant amount of BMW buyers… well, to that we’d say, “not yet.”
