It’s hard to think of another manufacturer that produces as many V8-powered fun machines as General Motors. From the Chevy Camaro SS and Holden Commodore HSV, to the Cadillac CTS-V and all the different types of Corvettes, there’s seemingly one for every taste — but they’re not all the same.
For instance, when pitting the 556-horsepower Cadillac CTS-V Coupe and its 6.2L LSA V8 against the visceral 505-horsepower Corvette Z06 Centennial Edition with its 7.0-liter LS7 V8 in a burnout contest, the difference in performance is quite staggering. Catch all of the action for yourself in the video below. And then follow up with our own video of the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe.

Man that Corvette sounds Awesome!
side note: am I the only one impressed that the CTS-V has so much grip on launch that a brake stand is necessary to do a burnout?
