A Look At The Design Of The Cadillac XTS And Ciel Concept With Clay Dean (Video)

Whether or not you’re a fan of the FWD layout of the upcoming Cadillac XTS, you’d be hard pressed to take a stance against its looks. From the inside out, the car’s striking appearance gives off an aura that’s difficult to mistake for anything else on the market. The appearance is further fortified by impressive technology thanks to the CUE infotainment system. The XTS even manages to pull off purple stitching — something that would have been impossible to imagine in a Caddy 15 years ago.

The twelve-minute video below was done by Moto-Man during the 2011 LA Auto Show. It takes a deep dive into the overall design of the XTS, while peering into the near future with the Ciel concept, which is guided by GM Advanced Design director Clay Dean.

  1. Wow that was a very informative video on the XTS and where Cadillac is going , its interesting that he mentioned the XTS being shorter than the CTS.

    1. I think he was referring to height, not length. The XTS is a full 11 inches longer than the CTS. XTS is 202″ long, CTS is 191″ long.

  4. A hideous midsize car that poses no threat to luxury car makers like BMW or AUDI, composed of cheap sheet metal at the outside and cheap plastic at the inside which GM is well know for. Cadillac should be very ashamed of their design team for creating this abomination. Cadillac just lost another client……
