Rumor has it that Chevy’s Hollywood, California design center are currently putting the finishing touches on a pair of concepts that will be revealed at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan next month. We could speculate to the moon and back as to what we might see. A Cruze coupe concept, a high performance Sonic, a Ford SVT Raptor-fighting Silverado? An El Camino? We’ll have to do some digging.

would Trailblazer be included??
I’m thinking that the two concepts will for previews of the next-gen Impala and Silverado.
Let’s not forget that the TrailBlazer nor the Colorado were shown in North America yet.
These need to blow our minds, we need to see radical design language paving the way for the future of Chevy, anything outside of that who cares…
REVEAL is the key word. Models like the Colorado wouldnt be considered a reveal. Right? Last week I read that GM will have a total of five “reveals” for the Detroit show. We already know of the ATS. I too also figured what else but the Impala from Chevy. As for the others, I have no clue. Maybe the Buick Encore (small crossover)? In my dreams, I imagined Cadillac would show it’s version of the Lambda crossover in concept form. What a display would that be! The new ATS, XTS, showing of the Ciel, AND for concept, the Cadillac Lambda! *faints*
maybe gm need to stop show concept ,and do like Hyundai shut up and build the car..anyway they never build the same car….
ats, impala, baby buick, truck, that is all i can say at this time it will be a great reveal and you will have to (maybe) wait for the granite you will see production of some of these sooner than you think. I cannot give away the suprises out there and this list may change based on finishing up projects and prototypes, most likely it will change. Hope to see you at NAIAS
Miath is absolutely right, if it doesnt blow our minds what’s the point, JD, GM needs to take to the next level, I better lose control of my bodily functions I am so excited. Stop showing us vehicles that fill gaps but don’t break any new ground in setting the brands appart, and the car should scream evolutionary.
I wish GM would come up with something to compete with a VW GTI, be it 2 or 4 doors. I know Opel/Vauxhall have a few turbocharged hatches (Corsa VXR and Astra GTC). I think they would go over well here. Right now there’s a void where the Cobalt SS was. There’s really nothing to attract 20something year olds into GM dealerships who want a sporty, affordable, and efficient car.
So your saying you want a suped up Sonic.
I personally don’t want a Sonic or any car that small. An Astra GTC, yeah sure. I like the last few GTI’s and the last Astra hatch sold here looked good too. Look at Gm’s lineup right now and find something that competes with other companies entry level sporty cars. This is the market that builds customer loyalty. How many teenagers 10 years ago bought Civics that they riced up, and are now driving Pilots and Accords. That’s where GM and Ford failed. They had nothing nobody under the age of 30 wanted or could afford. The same is gonna happen again.
That’s why more powerful variants of the Sonic and Cruze are a must! As is an entire Cruze line that includes a 5-door hatch, 3-door hatch, and coupe. Creating a Cruze line out of the already-excellent Cruze chassis should be a no-brainer. And it needs to be a Chevy — not the “we’re kinda-sorta-upmarket-but-not-really” Buick/Opel Astra.
Well, now I just read that the ATS will make its debut a day before the NAIAS. Does this mean that it is no longer counted as one of the “debuts” at the show???
i don’t think so not unless they explained what will it have on the car
