Surprise (Not): GM To Showcase Cadillac ATS, Plus Three Other New Vehicles At Detroit Auto Show In January

With the launch of the Cadillac ATS set for sometime in the middle of 2012, it’s become a surprise that the brand hasn’t revealed the vehicle sooner. Think about how long the veil has been off the Chevy Camaro ZL1, and the fact that it still won’t hit the market until early next year. We welcome the shorter period between the unveiling and the launch of a product, as the ATS will seem to have barely half a year between when it is revealed at the Detroit Auto Show next month and its launch later that year.
Aside from the white-hot ATS, GM also plans on showing off three more new vehicles at Detroit. Just what could they be? We have a few ideas. What do you think?

A preview of the next impala. A monte Carlo concept.
Something with a Bowtie that doesn’t end in “amaro” I hope. Next gen Impala or maybe a new concept off the Alpha platform (like a Monte Carlo as MW said) would be neat.
It better not be a Monte in concept or near production form.
The large coupe is dead and needs to stay dead.
Cadillac: ATS
Buick: Encore
GMC: Granite
Chevy: Impala
you have two right on your list…..
Other than the ATS, or with the ATS
One of them should be Colorado.
ATS for sure and the buick encore im guessing they might throw in the colorado and trailblazer into the mix
The granite looks nice but like Alex Luft said earlier it doesn’t fit in with GMC. Will it be the Volt MPV5 or some other bow-tie version of the granite (Orlando)? But I thought any 2nd gen Voltec wasn’t coming til 2015 – so that’s probably unlikely.
And how do they NOT bring the Trailblazer to ‘merica? Now that the Explorer is gone* and the Durango is back. I don’t think that a Durango/JGC go directly up against Traverse/Acadia, Trailblazer would fit in between those and the wimpy, no two mode hybrid havin’ Equinox but that might be too crowded I guess. Tahoe/Yukon -> Trailblazer/Envoy -> Blazer/Jimmy was better than Tahoe/Yukon -> Traverse/Acadia -> Equinox/Terrain; more options would be better..
Impala is wayy overdue I’d bet on that coming.
And probably no chance of a 2mode hybrid anything since the Vue/Equinox/SRX fell through…BOO
How about a Cruze hatch?
My guess is one is the little crossover we have been seeing for Chevy, then Buick Encore and Granite.
I have a big feeling that they’re going to display the production version of the ELR
What is the ELR
Cadillac “Volt”
Or a Cadillac coupe using the Voltec platform.
Oh yes I completely forgot about the elr I hope it stays true to the concept
I would love to see the ELR, I don’t know if there’s enough demand for it right now though. It would go a long way towards making those batteries cheaper if they can charge a premium for the caddy version and make some money on them unlike the Volt which is around cost, right?
Bmw is going through with their electric vehicles that is why the project is back on if there’s a market for BMW EV’s caddy should enter with no prob
On their website they list the ELR as a future production vehicle i think.
Duh… ELR totaly forgot.
I think they’ll debut a Cadillac Lambda , concept I assume for the 2014 model year prod vehicle
ATS, Encore, Next-gen Silverado, something else, …
Cadillac ATS
Cadillac ATS-V Coupe Concept
Chevy Impala
Buick Encore
Pontiac GTO Concept (THEY’RE BRINGING IT BACK, JUST YOU WAIT!!!!)
Or encore, impala, sonic RS, and ATS?
