During the SEMA Show in November, Chevy’s exhibit was pretty much dominated by the subcompact Sonic. Yes, there were a few other notables like the COPO Camaro Concept, but there was a Sonic for every day of the week, one of the most notable of which was the Sonic Boom concept — with its enormous audio system, which I like to refer to as its “bass cannons”. And having just finished a week of living with the Sonic, I do have a few things to say about its standard audio system (but you’ll have to wait for the review and our pretty pictures for that).
Interestingly, there is a new rumor that involves possible production of the Sonic Boom concept, which is backed by a recent U.S. Trademark filing by General Motors. The trademark has been reportedly granted final approval.
If true, then we may see something unprecedented in terms of factory sound systems in small cars, but probably not to the extent of the concept. Hopefully it is true.

Check out my take on this the Sonic Boom here
I figure I have some insight on this car because I am pretty close to the target market
you will see sonic boom but with a little more storage space…by the end of the year 12…
That concept made sense in 1992, but is the market for an ear shredding audio system really big enough to bother?
Rob, ha you are so absolutely right. Iam sorry but the day where my trunk was entirely made up of subwoofers (can’t forget the back seat) is over. That cake was baked and eaten long ago, the ship sailed. What is the point, this is someone reliving there youth wet dream stereo system.
Guys, it obviously won’t be as over the top as the concept. But it honestly wouldn’t hurt. And jd if you’re willing to share anything else please shoot me an email!
But what about performance wise? will it still stick with the 1.4 turbo? or will it be something larger?
At that point, you won’t need an engine; the base will propel you on its own merits.
hahahahha
it looks like it didnt get any sleep, redeye lol. ps i love the coulor on it
