With General Motors roadblocking every proposal for Saab to be sold to a competitive Chinese automaker, the Swedish car company is left with seemingly nothing else but bankruptcy. But while the The General does not want to see its patents and technology fall into the hands of the opposition, it has released a brief statement proclaiming that it will take steps to honor the warranties of Saab vehicles marketed by the company. However, independent Saab vehicles like the new 9-5 and 9-4x will be sold from dealerships “as is” and will not have the luxury of a warranty.

Oh? Are the pricks at Government Motors going to make parts for my 2003 9-5? I’m not holding my breath. My favorite cars ever are the late 60’s / early 70’s GM muscle cars. But I will never own another GM product. They took my money, via those renowned investment bankers George W. Bush and Barack Obama, and then didn’t even eliminate the CBAs and legacy costs that got them in the shitter in the first place. Greedy, militant labor and stupid, inefficient management make for a worthless company that should not even exist any more. Put GM through Chapter 7, and if someone picks up the Chevy name, and starts making good vehicles with workers who view themselves as individual professionals rather than a “collective,” then I’ll buy another Chevy.
