As the next generation Chevy Impala goes through testing at GM’s Milford Proving Grounds and other parts of the world, GM has officially announced a $68 million investment for its Oshawa, Ontario assembly plant to get things in shape for the production of the new Chevy. It will join the Buick Regal, Cadillac XTS, Chevy Camaro, Chevy Equinox and GMC Granite.
If the investments for the new Impala are happening now for the 10 million square-foot facility, that should pin the Impala’s launch somewhere around early 2013, with late 2012 being optimistic.
