We interrupt your Christmachannaquanzicah online shopping sprees to bring you news that the Cadillac SRX is facing a recall. Specifically, 8,789 units built between the 2010 and 2011 model years are affected, as they could have an improperly fitted transmission shift cable.
According to the NHTSA, the affliction could result in the cable popping out of the transmission bracket. If that happens, the transmission may not shift into gear at all, which immobilizes the vehicle. Additionally, the SRX could also appear as though it’s in Park when it isn’t, which could lead to the vehicle suddenly rolling off.

I sometimes don’t understand things like this happening. If a car has been successfully manufactured for several years using a certain type of technology, why change it…so it can fail? I realize that certain changes are inevitable, just to keep a vehicle up-to-date and moving ahead, but some of these recalls are for such so-called “improvements” that just don’t make sense!
