Cadillac looks to be the first American brand to launch HD Radio with its first-ever CUE infotainment system. For those that have never heard of HD Radio before, it’s a separate entity from both satellite and internet radio. In a nutshell, it’s a a digital broadcasting format for AM and FM stations in the United States.
The format allows for more sound clarity, along with digital channels, of which there are 1,300 stations nationwide that can only be heard through HD Radio. Drivers can also pause the live radio for a max of twenty minutes if they have to. Look for CUE in the first-ever Cadillac XTS in the spring of 2012.

While I am certainly not one to stand in the way of progress, I hope that there are some very basic version of the XTS. Many buyers don’t want all the whiz-bang technological features and if they are forced on all version of the XTS, it will lose out to competition due to the inherent price advantage of giving less “stuff”.
Wait, this is a Cadillac and you’re worried about pricing?
Sorry, but Cadillac needs to move onwards and upward with their new products, not backwards. If Cadillac is going to continue to cater to grey hairs and luddites with decontented cars just hairs away from becoming queens of the rental lots, then we might as well write its obituary.
If you want downmarket luxo-barges without any tech and reminiscent of pre-A&S Cadillacs (cars that were habitually crap), you may be able to find a few used Kia Amanti’s.
That was Very Well put and Agree with you Totally!!!!
