Opel Insignia Goes 170 MPH In A Parking Lot, Does It Without Moving

Opel’s range-topping Insignia OPC is a vehicle of envy here in the United States. With its 325 horsepower turbocharged V6 engine to its all-wheel-drive setup, the Insignia OPC has all of the credentials for the track. But what if there is no track? What if there isn’t even an open road? What if there’s just a parking lot? It didn’t stop these guys from some foreign speaking country from getting their Insignia OPC to go 170 miles per hour without moving an inch. Watch how they did it in the video below.

  1. If it’s AWD, then why are the front wheels off the rollers?

  4. Might have been a good idea to place a large cooling fan in front of the car considering they were making the motor rev to redline…not very smart….but one sweet ride none the less. Buick Regal GSX anyone?

  5. Hi: that foreign speaking country is Hungary, and the car didn’t miss that cooling fan at all, Brian: the average consumption on the BC display was about 33 mpg, so the engine burned half ammount of fuel – so created half less heat – than crawling in a traffic jam with no drag at all. The fan of the engine started only after the 3rd 0-270 run.

    1. Wow! That really is impressive, it’s a terrific car – I am very glad that it wasn’t damaged in any way. FYI, I am extremely jealous living here in the USA, that I can’t have that Opel OPC – enjoy it!!

  7. What in the world is the point of this? Would make perfect sense if it was being dynoed.
