Ad Break: “Peak” Starring The 2012 Cadillac SRX

  2. And that’s what I don’t like about ads that harp on only one minor fact of a product and waste 30 seconds telling us that. The way I see it, if the following was left unmolested it would have sounded better.

“The most powerful” – car on earth? I wouldn’t mind it.

And now we’re going to tack on some qualifiers that will diminish the impact of the ad.

“standard engine” – of any car?

“in any luxury crossover” – again, they just keep further limiting the car.

Yes, I’m picking apart ads that single out fringe facts; a fringe fact that could be even more meaningless when a compeditor makes a more powerful standard engine in their luxury crossover and thus claims the title.

Don’t count on them to adverstise it.
