President Obama, South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak To Visit Orion Assembly

The workers at GM’s Orion Township, Michigan assembly plant will have to brace themselves for a royal Presidential welcome tomorrow, as they will be visited by not only President Barack Obama, but South Korean President Lee Myung-bak as well.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the visit is meant to promote a free trade agreement that may increase the export of U.S.-made products to South Korea, Colombia and Panama.

“If Americans can buy Kias and Hyundais, I want to see folks in South Korea driving Fords and Chevys and Chryslers,” President Obama said last month. “I want to see more products sold around the world stamped with the three proud words: ‘Made in America.’ That’s what we need to get done.”

  1. I can’t remember exact numbers but I remember an article mentioning a very high percentage of Korean Nations would choose a Chevy. Korea is starting to sell high quality cars here in the states I think the US should reciprocate.
