With the approaching release of the Chevy Camaro ZL1, Cadillac XTS and ATS, 2012 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for General Motors. So, which launch vehicle are you looking forward to the most in 2012? Sound off in the poll below!
- Sweepstakes Of The Month: Win a 2023 Corvette Z06 Convertible. Details here.
Cadillac ATS – Will definately try to buy it if has a great interior and is at or below 30k
30 on the dot will be tough. I think — after taxes — you’ll be looking at somewhere in the vicinity of $33,000-$35,000… but we’ll see. No official pricing has yet been released, so I’m keeping fingers crossed! 🙂
Not to mention that, just like BMW, a low “base price” doesn’t necessarily indicate anything close to the average transaction value. Basically, even if it DOES start under 30K, which I doubt it will, the “one you want” may be considerably more expensive.
Definitely the Cadillac ATS. I am eager to see how it turns out. Knowing GM, they’ve done their homework in building something that would give the BMW 3 Series a run for its money, just like the latest CTS did with the 5 Series.
Next Silverado!
As a fantasy the ATS and it’s V varient; as a reality the new Colorado.
Silverado/Sierra 4500/5500 cab and chassis, larger medium duty. Some of us have work to do!
The new vehicles I’m most looking forward to are the ATS, XTS and new generation of full-size trucks/SUVs. I’m curious to see how GM comes back at the F150 and Ram in terms of powertrain options and packaging. I’m also itching to see what features the new XTS packs. Only have to wait like two more weeks and it will be unveiled in Los Angeles!
Personally, the new ATS in non-v spec.
If the new ATS isn’t perfect out of the gate, than the V spec might come off as insulting. Someting not unlike “look how much you need to spend to have the ATS make you feel good about yourslef”.
I’m not against an ATS-V, I’m just more pro ATS than ATS-V. Remember, this car will be one of the lower priced Cadillacs and the one that is likely to sell in larger numbers than the CTS. If all Cadillac is doing lately is just braging about the ATS ring times, to me it says that they aren’t putting as much a focus on the lower to mid range ATS as they are on the V.
I think the reason we’re seeing more performance-focused content is a byproduct of today’s marketing practices. Everyone knows that fast and sexy sells… hence the performance-oriented marketing. But most will not be able to afford the V. Thus the reason for non-V models.
At the end of the day, the videos is just marketing and communication and doesn’t really reflect the engineering focus or principles of Cadillac.
I’m looking forward to seeing the ATS I really hope that GM doesn’t screw this car up with trims and powertrains who cares about the base we pretty much know what to expect from the V-series I want the trim in between those two I’m about performance and luxury so 330+ horses would do good and a beautiful interior ……..30 grand for an ATS is somewhat comical because that’s probably a base starting not base price and you wouldn’t be given the expected amenities for that price
IMPALA!!!!
Does anyone know if the Impala will be shown at the Chicago or NY Auto Show?
Don’t know yet. My guess would be New York.
Colorado
I really cant wait for the Chevrolet Malibu, Impala, Colorado, the redesigned Silverado, Express, and the HHR replacement, and possibly a Chevy Ute/El Camino in the near future. The future will satisfy us, I hope! 😀
The Cruze Diesel. Hopefully with a proper hybrid powertrain and over 50mpg combined fuel economy.
