Those of you out there who are cinephiles probably have heard of The Rum Diary, the latest flick starring derelict chick-magnet Johnny Depp. In the movie, he portrays journalist Paul Kemp in 1950’s Puerto Rico as he attempts to humerously live through overloads of alcohol, women and dangerously powerful people — there’s a plot somewhere in there, we think. (If it reminds you exactly of Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, it’s because this movie is also based off a novel written by the late and great Hunter S. Thompson.)
In the middle of it all, Depp drives a mint condition 1959 Corvette. After filming wrapped up, producer Graham King graced the vehicle to Depp as a gift in appreciation of a job well done. What a perk.
