Hennessey Performance To Offer 1,026 Horsepower Upgrade For Camaro ZL1

It should come as no surprise to anyone that Hennessey Performance will be offering performance upgrades to the upcoming Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. But to the extent of which the renown tuning company plans on murdering out the range-topping Camaro may leave some in shock.
According to reports, Hennessey will feed the ZL1 with enough steroids to give it a power rating of 1,026 horsepower with their HPE1000 Twin Turbo upgrade. This involves swapping out the already-powerful 580 horsepower supercharged LSA V8 for a 7.0-liter LSX crate engine accompanied by two turbochargers. If you prefer less overkill, Hennessey will offer upgrades to (just) 610, 650, 700 and 800 horsepower. Pricing has yet to be announced, but stay tuned.

Does Hennessey actually ever build these wild vehicles claimed to offer? Talks big, but I have never seen anything big come from that shop.
Also, I recall the Dodge Viper guys loved him so much they seem to have run him out of one shop to the next. I still recall the stories about “shop visits by appointment only” when Hennessey was involved in the issues which made him legendary on the internet.
At any rate, those who know, go elsewhere. Buyer beware!
