While photos of the 2012 Caddy Escalade Premium are few and far between, hawk-eyed GM Authority spy photographers managed to catch the new trim package of the luxury SUV in person.
As a reminder, the Premium package replaces chrome accents with body-colored parts, adds a revised front fascia with an embedded grille in the lower bumper, redesigned front fender vents, new 22″ polished aluminum wheels, and optional LED headlamps.
But the biggest changes, in our opinion, are in the revised rear fascia. They include new dual rectangular exhaust tips, a center high-mounted stop lamp, clear-tinted LED tail lamps, and a new Cadillac emblem.
The Premium doesn’t appear in dealer show rooms for the next several months, so heed this here gallery for your leisurely perusal. What do you think of the changes?

but then the thing is that on the Cadillac website the rear wasn’t like this! it still looks the same from 2011
Escalade Premium — a new trim level.
got it
But I’m actually surprised that the EXT doesn’t get the treatment though
I’m fairly certain that the Premium will be a trim level available across the entire Escalade range, including Escalade (regular), ESV, and EXT. But I could be wrong about the EXT.
Because I check the EXT premium on the Build your own section (it does have it) but it’s without the clear-tinted taillamps and other stuff that has it on the regular Escalade and ESV
I don’t think those photos are accurate. It doesn’t have any of the Premium treatments — body-color grille top or wheels, for instance. Just a mistake, probably.
Because on the regular ones and the ESV it is accurate on the cadillac’s website though
Yeah, I see that. Websites are made by humans. It’s probably just an oversight.
because I did also a video searching on youtube and it looks the same as if it’s the luxury trim level of the Escalade and ESV
Plane Jane…..Not Really Blowin my Skirt Up People……I Really Hope there is More to it, be Very Nice to see an Exclusive 4.4 Duramax HO, the Cue, Power folding and Hide away seating and an even more Powerful and Fuel Efficient Direct Injected V8 make it into the Build, Platinum Editions should be Even More Exclusive then the other Caddy’s just like the V Series is!! I think they have Righted the Ship as far as Tech is concerned with the upcoming Cue and still Class Leading and Awesome On-Star, and other Interesting Cars they will Launch soon now its time to Sail away from the Competition and become that True Standard we been waiting for!! 🙂 🙂 I do Look forward to the LA Auto Show now…..its Worth going to again!! 😉
Every single one of those things are coming for the next generation, with the exception of the diesel — as far as I know.
CUE simply wasn’t made for this generation and would require a tremendous amount of work to port it back to this old-school hardware and software. The same goes for the power-folding rear seats; heck, even a flat-folding 3rd row would be great. But that’s not doable right now because of the platform’s crossmember placement. Hate to say it, but the Navigator’s got the Escalade beat as it stands right now. Too bad the Nav is ugly.
Here I am waiting for the next-gen Escalade. Not that I’ll be buying one, though.
but can’t come soon enough
Alex, Do you have an update regarding the the Next Gen Escalade in terms of features and availability/timeline?
