Could The Next Generation Chevrolet Malibu SS Look Like This?

The next generation Chevrolet Malibu may not even be out yet, but that isn’t stopping renown automotive rendering website Theophilus Chin from coming up with a rendering of what could resemble a high performance version of the car. Though chances are the all-new ‘Bu won’t don an SS badge anytime soon, it doesn’t hurt to dream.

I really hoping this type of snout carries over to the next gen Impala. They’ve really hit on an aesthetically pleasing shape and smooth flowing lines on the new Bu.
wow that’s hot
GM please make that into a coupe as well woot!
If you want an “SS” coupe with 323 horsepower, why not buy a Camaro? I don’t get it.
This rendering looks damn sexy though.
To be honest I don’t want it at all . I want GM to offer a Option like its competitors.
I agree with you on your point if i wanted a SS with 323 horsepower but I never said any of that. All I said was GM build it and they will come lol in other words make the dam thing. There are people out there that don’t want a RWD car as strange as it may seem to me or you.:) Also I am holding off until I get to test drive the ATS 🙂
I would like to know how a front wheel drive four door car could be an SS???
Just wouldn’t be right….
Have you forgotten about the Cobalt SS sedan already? Not that it’s powertrain at the time set a New-burgerking record at the time for ALL FWD cars globally.
Drivetrain and the number of doors doesn’t define an SS, its performance does.
Hal you have a good point. I Honestly don’t care what they call It just build it 🙂
I don’t see why they shouldn’t build it because next gen Fusion is going to get a sportier version of it.
Even the current-gen Fusion has the very potent “Sport” variant… To compete, Chevy has… nothing.
Which that would lead to why Chevrolet doesn’t offer sportier variant of Cruze or Malibu not unless they really don’t think that people don’t buy Civic SI for no reason or buy the new Camry SE that can run 5.8 sec from 0-60
From what it looks like, GM’s primary goal right now is to make (and sell) a huge amount of mainstream vehicles. Volume leaders such as Cruze, Malibu, Sonic/Aveo, Equinox, and even the Colorado, Silverado, and Traverse. They’re taking a traditional approach to pad their bank account — and once it’s sufficiently padded, it’s my opinion that we’ll then see all the high-performance variants we’ve been waiting for.
PS: that Camry SE is all engine and no handling ability, unlike the Civic Si, which actually has a fair amount of suspension and chassis tuning to back up the increased power.
But then I see in some magazines they used the LE and i was surprised that they test out 0.83g
Making Chevrolet relevant to all should be the focus, as Alex has mentioned in the past GM brands should be able to Stear there own ship, have as much relevant product for the consumer as possible. There will always be over lap but how each brand differentiates itself in the marketplace will be key, competing not just with itself but carving out a niche in the overall market. The industry is changing so dynamically and quickly it will be interesting to see how GM contends. As far as a sporty Malibu heck yes, bring it…. There is a whole generation of us that have driven nearly only fwd vehicles, we likem we want em we buy them…
That sportier nose makes those rear haunches relavent. They need to make that design a priority, and whoever rendered it needs to get a free one, or a royalty, or a pat on the back. That is the best looking GM sport sedan…..maybe ever.
This is what I am talking about. Perfect sports Malibu. Hurry up and build it for European and American markets.
