With all of the excitement surrounding Cadillac and Corvette Racing, it’s sometimes too easy to overlook things. And as both teams concluded their racing seasons this past weekend, the Chevrolet British Touring Car Championship team faces a nail biting season finale at England’s Silverstone circuit come October 15-16.
Chevy’s Jason Plato (the very same Jason Plato who co-hosts Fifth Gear) is in the middle of a 5-way logjam for the driver’s championship with 220 points on the season, just behind Honda’s Matt Neal with 225 points. Other racers in the mix include Gordon Shedden of Honda, who is tied with Plato’s 220 points, Mat Jackson with 189 points and James Nash with 181 points.
Silverstone will determine everybody’s fate for the 2011 season. Let the drama ensue… 10 days from now.
