Question: Why did Cadillac build a 556 horsepower luxury car with a manual transmission?
Answer: Because there are those who still believe in the power of a firm handshake.
The GM Authority Take
This is perhaps one of the best commercials. Ever. And we’re not just talking about the auto industry here.
Question: is there any man, kid, or teenager here who, after watching the clip, does not aspire to pull up in a row-it-yourself CTS-V, take care of your own bags, and hand the valet a Jackson? Truth be told, I wouldn’t let the valet park it. But that’s just me.
Once you’ve played the ad back (perhaps several times), be sure to make your way over to our review of the CTS Coupe and CTS-V Wagon.

I love it!
It is a great ad. Wouldn’t it be nice to see manual transmissions offered as an option on almost everything again?
Heck yes! Every car should have a stick at least as an option. I’d even go so far as to say that I’d be willing to pay a premium for a car with a stick, even though it’s less expensive than an auto to produce.
