Will The Cadillac ATS Look Like This?

While looking over the very recent spy photos of the first-ever Cadillac ATS at ATSForums.com, we also took notice of some incredibly detailed (and seemingly accurate) renderings of what the ATS sedan, coupe, wagon and convertible could possibly look like. Judging by the photo above, would you be happy if the ATS officially looks like this? For more, visit ATSForums.com.

    1. Yabadadoo,

I didn’t say that it should be 30k just that I would buy it if it was 30k since I cannot afford a dollar over that. The BMW 3 Series, the benchmark of the luxury compact segment starts at 34 K. The BMW 5 Series starts at 46k. That’s a 12 K difference. The Cadillac CTS’s closest competitor is the 5 series and it starts at 35 K. Bmw has a 12 K difference between the two why can’t Cadillac have a 5k difference?

By the way none of my neighbor’s drive’s a lexus and if you’ve driven a 1990 Lexus LS400 then you you will know that it is neither a camry nor garbage.

      Here’s a link for a Brand New 2011 Bmw 328 i Sedan for $28,575

      1. Agreed — the Lexus (Lexi?) is still one of the best-driving vehicles of all time.

That said, the ATS will cause the CTS to go up in price. I think the ATS will start in the low $30,000s and the CTS will start in the low $40,000s. It’s the “upmarketization” of Caddy.

  8. Judging by the recent spy pics, It won’t look exactly like the pictured above, I’ve noticed that door skin design is different on the one that was testing in nurbergrin.

  9. Also the deck lid on a test vehicle has a sort of a bulge (like new malibu) and is slightly longer. Also on the picture above the front and back lean inwards a lot more then on the testing. So in my opinion this is not the actual production ATS.

  10. lex, look a little bit closer, the rendering is close but not exact, and all will be suprised by the look of the car especiallly the driving dynamics are great. BMW watch out this is a very good car and will set some of the direction for the brand. the large and small cars will have 2 differant directions of design for traditional caddy buyers and new caddy buyers. the next Lambda platform for caddy will compete against the Porche and Merc suv’s as far as driving dynamics and materials at a much lower price point, not just cladding anymore. the future looks great please take a close look at future details to come out.

    1. jd,

Why even bother launching a Lambda Cadillac? It’s been so long in development, why not figure out a way to implement some RWD architecture instead, a la stretched Sigma/Alpha/Omega? It just doesn’t seem right to use the Lambda architecture considering the layout of the competition.

      1. As well as the overall direction of Cadillac, aside from the stop-gap XTS…

  11. Wow! That looks phenomenal. I hope reality is very close to the rendering.

  12. If only it would look like this. The British magazine Autocar does these amazing renderings all the time. Unfortunately the “real deal” doesn’t quite have the same “wow” factor. The ATS is supposed to be at the LA Auto Show. I just got my email for a press pass today, so I’m crossing my fingers that it will actually show up on Press Preview days. I’m eager to see it as much as anyone else.
