You probably wouldn’t believe that the Cadillac Escalade can touch 60 mph from a standstill faster than the athletic Mercedes-Benz C300 sport sedan. That is, until you watch it happen.

anybody has another link??
Working on it. One sec.
That should do it…
Nice, Caddy. Well done!
awesome!
Too cool.
Seems to me that Mercedes could just shoot a vid of a GL550 taking a CTS 3.0 making this pointless
Hmmm. Good point.
Why did Top Gear pit a 2012 Nissan GT-R against a Jaguar XKR?
Because it’s fun.
I agree, however that was Top Gear. This on the other hand is Cadillac trying to convince us that the Escalade is faster than a Mercedes when in fact a GL550 is probably faster than an Escalade.
It probably is. But then why would Cadillac make a video of it losing to a smaller, more athletic SUV? That would be silly.
I was hoping for SRX vs. the GLK350 comparison in 0-60
I think the ML would be a much more direct comparison. Seeing that the new ML just came out, it would whoop up on the SRX pretty bad!
Well the thing is that ML’s V6 it’s only 302 hp and they have 7 speed and Caddy has 6 speed and both have around the same amount of weight. MB estimated the ML its around 7.3 seconds and not sure about the Caddy though. And for a fully loaded ML its about the same price as an Escalade lol
And the funny thing is that ML doesn’t come with standard leather seats. But then I just wish that Caddy would be wise enough to put the adaptive cruise control though
Lol “only” 302 horses via a 7-speed! That’s supercar numbers from 10 years ago in a luxury CUV driven by soccer moms and the well-to-do! I think the original NSX made 300, didn’t it?
The ML, though, is just so much more “car” than the SRX. Everything in the ML screams “I’m the effing bomb. Feel this wood? Yeah, feels good, don’t it? That’s cuz its real… And this brushed metal is real! Even my door handles are of real metal, not coated with shiny tin foil.”
It’s all just so well put-together that I find it quite remarkable… While the SRX doesn’t even offer power telescope or tilt steering wheel control…. And the available diesel in the ML makes something like 455 lb.-ft. of twist, but I’ve so far only driven the petrol variant. No way the SRX would handle that much with its front-drive-based layout.
Just giving credit where it’s due 🙂
that would probably be the price tag for higher materials haha
Yupp. As I like to say, MB is a luxury brand that gives you luxury… for the price of luxury. Meanwhile, Caddy needs to compete on the “price/value proposition”.
that’s true!
